La Casa de Mis Recuerdos

Bed and Breakfasts

Nestled in the emerald hills of Mexico’s state of Oaxaca, lies a romantic gem of a city by the same name. This charming colonial town is one of Mexico’s national treasures, a showcase of the real Mexico, where travelers tired of brash beach resorts, come to enjoy an authentic Mexican experience.

La Casa de Mis Recuerdos was one of the first B&B to open in Oaxaca. We have been hosting travelers worldwide since 1978 and as a B&B since 1994.

Our original B&B La Casa de Mis Recuerdos has 10 rooms. Our second B&B, Encanto Jalatlaco opened in October of 2004 has three rooms as does our newest B&B Estancia de Valencia which opened in September of 2005.

La Casa de Mis Recuerdos offer a choice of three distinct Bed & Breakfasts to choose from.

La Casa de Mis Recuerdos epitomizes the gracious charm that brings travelers from around the world. From the moment you enter the tranquil courtyard, you will find yourself immersed in a world of fountains, flower covered walls, tiled balconies, bougainvillea, hibiscus and lilies; the blizzard of color is enhanced by a selection of birds, including canaries and parrots. The bedrooms are classic Oaxaca: pastel colors; tiled floors; as quiet and comfortable as your own home; spotlessly clean; full of character and refined. The tasteful décor is enhanced by local handicrafts, painstakingly chosen for your pleasure. The beds are comfortable, and each spacious room is refreshingly cool, ensuring a good nights sleep.

Not surprisingly, your three course Oaxaquenian breakfast is a sumptuous affair of tropical fruits, pastries, and assorted traditional dishes, complimented by hot chocolate made straight from the best ground cocoa beans or delicious coffee made to order from home roasted beans.

Your breakfast will be accompanied by early morning bird songs and graciously served by Conchita and Nora, wearing traditional Oaxacan dress at our Centro location, while Maria at Encanto Jalatlaco and Lorena at Estancia de Valencia, will surely start your day with a smile.

With Nora and William fluent in English (or happy to encourage your Spanish), a climate that can truly be called “Endless Spring”, surroundings awash with color and light, food fit for a king, and the fascinating ruins of the Zapotec civilization nearby, it is hard to image a more rewarding or satisfying destination in all of Oaxaca state, or indeed in all of Mexico. All three B&B's of La Casa de Mis Recuerdos are ideally located to enjoy the delights of Oaxaca city. All of the main city attractions are within a short walk of your front door, and the city is centrally located for many nearby sightseeing excursions.
